Join Kathleen for a “blast” of a story time at one of Barnes & Noble’s newest locations, at Eastview Mall in Victor, New York! Reading, Q&A, book signing. All are welcome!
rochester children’s & Teen book festival
Decades old now, with officially added offerings for tweens and teens, this year’s Festival is November 8th, at Monroe Community College, featuring 50 authors and illustrators, readings, presentations, a craft room…and it’s free! Stop and see Kathleen and the crew!
Strasenburgh Planetarium – August 16, 2025, 10AM
Thanks to Picnic Heist Publishing and the Rochester Museum & Science Center, Kathleen will present a storytime in the sky, to commemorate the re-launch of her picture book, Milo’s Moonlight Mission. Watch as the pages turn in the sky, as day turns to night. It’s free and includes a reading, activities, and a book signing!
Nazareth Elementary School – December 11, 2024
Kathleen will provide three presentations, covering all grade levels. Having attended Catholic schools, herself, for twelve years, Kathleen suspects this will feel like going home and looking forward to it!
Festival-to-Go – October 2024
Every fall, the Rochester Children’s Book Festival organizes free school visits to Rochester City School students. The amazing Vivian Vande Velde of Rochester Area Children’s Writers & Illustrators, puts loads of time to providing this special experience for the studens and Authors/Illustrators, alike!

Kathleen is thrilled to join fellow RACWI members for a “tell-all” panel, sharing experiences with writing, submitting, rejection, and the general roller coaster ride this journey is!
BEGINNERS’ BOOK CLUB – May 24, 4:30PM
As if the bike rack installed at the Henrietta Public Library was not enough of an honor, this wonderful library is hosting a book club for kids featuring HOSEA PLAYS ON. Kathleen will share the origins of the story, fun facts about Hosea Taylor’s life, and facilitate an activity. Registration is required.
