Rochester Children's Book Festival/Kids' Books ROC (Virtual)
The Rochester Children’s Book Festival has been part of the Greater Rochester (NY) area for nearly 25 years. This year, for the first time, it is virtual, opening it up to everyone! Kathleen will participate in a picture book panel with Yuko Jones, London Ladd, and Peggy Thomas, as well as read MILO’S MOONLIGHT MISSION in the Festival’s Read-to-Me Corner. “Books Backstage” shines a spotlight on authors and the artists featured in their books. This event will include the story behind Kathleen’s book HOSEA PLAYS ON, a moderated discussion, live music featuring saxophonists, and a book signing (books can be purchased onsite — in time for the holidays!). Admission is $8.

Mural Dedication • Rochester, New York
Join Kathleen and the patrons of the Arnett Branch of the Rochester Public Library, as they celebrate the completion of The Mural Project, featuring beloved titles painted on the outside of the library. Each of the 3 artists, Library staff, and 2 of the authors, including Kathleen, will say a few words. This is a truly unique depiction of literature in the arts! Kathleen is honored to have her book HOSEA PLAYS ON permanently displayed on the library in Hosea’s very own neighborhood. Pictured here are Kathleen’s parents, to whom she dedicated the book. The illustrator, Shane W. Evans, also has Rochester roots!
